 MITCHELL – Barbara Joan Lindley, 87, passed away at 11:35 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2014, at her residence.

Born October 10, 1927, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Everett and Mabel (Bowers) Conley.  She married Alvin C. “Dude” Lindley June 29, 1946, and he preceded her in death April 22, 1989.

Barbara retired as treasurer of Mitchell Community Schools.  She was a member of Spice Valley Baptist Church, Phi Beta Psi Sorority, and Order of Eastern Star.  She was a 1946 graduate of Mitchell High School.

Her parents; sister, Gail Witmer, and brothers, Elmer Conley and Edgar Conley;  and grandson, Kerry King, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother David Conley officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
