MITCHELL — Dean F. Kirk, 80, passed away at 5:05 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Indiana University Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born March 4, 1934, in Mitchell, he was the son of Floyd and Ethel (Taylor) Kirk. He married Sharon Williams June 28, 1957.
He was the maintenance electrician at National Gypsum and retired in 1997 with 21 years of service. He was the production scheduling manager and employed 24 years at Roberts Brass. Dean was a 38 year member of the Mitchell Masonic Lodge No. 228 F&AM and attended the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene. Dean loved life and his family. He loved to travel, especially with his twin brother. He was always involved in building homes for his sons.

His parents; brother, Larry Kirk; and sister, Geneva Voorhies, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 21, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Jerry Allen officiating. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
