MITCHELL – Debra Jean Cain, 57, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born March 21, 1959 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Nelson “Bud” and Betty Lou (Wells) Blackerby.

Debra was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War No. 9107 Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed riding motorcycles.

Patricia Dawn (Robert)  Hutsler of Paoli
brothers,
Jessy Ray (Debbie Jo) Blackerby  of Mitchell
Richard Paul Blackerby of Mitchell
several nieces and nephews

Her father and son, Gregory Alan Vaught, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, at the Bride of Christ Fellowship with Brother Jerry Allen officiating.  A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the service Thursday at the church.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107 Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.

    So sorry to hear of Debbie's passing......Had tried to make plans to talk with her soon.......I remember all the times in our childhood of spending the night at betty and Baps house and going to the river with my dad....She was always such a sweet girl.......Prayers are with you all .......
