MITCHELL — Donna Jean Mundy, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at her residence.

Born January 2, 1930, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Delbert and Lucille (Jewell) Doane.  She married Merlin E. Mundy April 26, 1944, and he preceded her in death September 17, 2008.

Donna was a homemaker and a member of Woodville Baptist Church.

Surviving:           sons, Ed (Tammy) Mundy, Spencer
                                  David (Judy) Mundy, Bloomington
        daughter-in-law, Pam Mundy, Campbellsburg
  grandson that was raised in the home,
                                  Jason Lee (Jennifer) Mundy, Ellettsville
                                  8 grandchildren
                                12 great grandchildren
                        sister, Sue Gensemer, Shoals
                     brother, Dee Doane, Bedford

Her parents; husband; sons, Jimmie Lee Mundy and Michael Dean Mundy; grandson; sister, Delores Sherfick; and brothers, Dale Doane and Dean Doane, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Glenn Hamer officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on  Saturday at the funeral home.

    Donna was always so good to me.She treated me like family and we liked to shop together.She will be missed by so many.I can not come because of road being flooded but I am sure she knows that.Wish I could have been there for the family.

    I will miss my wonderful sister. Many times she was more like a Mother to me. Ed, Jim,& I were so close in age they were more like brothers. Donna was fun,sweet and kind and even though I will miss her, I'm happy that her pain is over. Love you Sis RIP.

    You were a blessed and loving woman. You were a great mother- in-law and was very kind to me, and I can still hear you giggle. My deepest condolences to your family. I'm sure you will be missed. The gates of heaven opened and received a loving angel and on the other side was not only Jesus but Merlin, Mike, Justin and Jim doing the gremlin dance. I hope you sew up a storm of gowns.     Donna, was like a mother to me. Usually we called each other everyday. We went places together and had lots of fun. She was a great lady and I will miss her lots. I'm so sorry for her family. Your grandmother, mother, aunt, etc loved her lots.
