MITCHELL — E. Maxine Wood, 90, passed away at 10:32 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Born December 24, 1923, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Harry and Ethel (Batchelor) Terry. She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Wood, Jr. on April 5, 1943.

She had been employed at RCA and was a 1943 graduate of Mitchell High School.

Her parents; son, Lonnie Dow Wood; and siblings, Mildred Hawk, Virginia Cochran, Chester Terry, Lester Terry, Roy Terry, and Glen Terry, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Allen Burris officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Maxine and Bob were wonderful aunt and uncle and I enjoyed visiting them when I visited relatives in Mitchell when I was growing up. They'll be in my heart always.
