MITCHELL – Edith Burton Ramey, 94, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.

Born September 11, 1923, in Orleans, she was the daughter of Harry and Julia Delilah (Martin) Burton.  She married Roy R. Ramey January 22, 1944, and he preceded her in death November 2, 2015.

Edith retired from Public Service Indiana with 31 years of service and was a 1941 graduate of Mitchell High School.  She was a member of the First Christian Church and held all offices in the Order of Eastern Star No. 352.

Her parents; husband; and sister, Mary Katherine Burton, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Brian Bolton officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
