MITCHELL – Edward Lee Haynes, 68, passed away at 12:57 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Born October 16, 1946, in Vincennes, he was the son of Pearl (Ross) Haynes.  He married Mildred Alene Scott June 29, 1968.

He retired from Carpenter Body Works and was a member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church.

Surviving:            wife, Mildred Haynes, Mitchell
                           son, Steven (Cassie) Haynes, Mitchell
            grandchildren, Sydney Marie Sue Haynes
                                  Anthony Andrew Wayne Wood

His parents and brothers, Richard Haynes and Phillip Haynes, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Steve Jones officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

    I remember Eddie and his brother Phillip riding our school bus as kids, the lived back a long gravel driveway and had a ways to walk to catch the bus. They both were quiet and well behaved. Prayers for the family.
