MITCHELL – Gale Edward “Bunk” Moody, 77, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, at his residence.

Born November 28, 1939, in Anderson, he was the son of Garnet Floyd and Elva Marian (Gordon) Moody.  He married Nora J. McGinnis July 9, 1980.

Gale had been employed in the meat department at Kroger and Jay-C, retired from Ford, and then worked in security at Spring Mill State Park.  He graduated in 1957 from Oolitic High School and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Gale was a member of the American Patriot Lodge No. 750 F. &A.M., Spring Mill Lodge Fraternal Order of Police No. 172, and president of Stone City Squares.  He enjoyed golfing with his son.

He was a veteran of the Indiana National Guard.

His parents; brother, Maurice Moody and twin brother, Dale Moody; preceded him in death.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Darvin Winters and Deacon Dave Reising officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.  The American Patriot Lodge No. 750 F. &A.M. will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m.
