BEDFORD – Glenda Carol Gerkin, 61, passed away Friday morning, November 13, 2015, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Born April 30, 1954, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Malcolm and Frankie Rose (Duncan) Hilderbrand.  She married Michael Dean Gerkin May 26, 1995, and he preceded her in death August 14, 2008.

She was a dietary manager at nursing homes, kitchen manager for the Midwest Trail Ride, and a 1972 graduate of Oolitic High School.  Glenda was a member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsman Club Auxiliary.

3 grandchildren
5 great grandchildren

Sharon Davies, Bedford

Her parents; husband; and siblings, Pam Philpott, Shawn Hilderbrand, and Randy Hilderbrand, preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, at Mitchell Cemetery with Brother Perry East officiating.

Friends may call from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

    I am so sorry to hear that Glenda has gone home to God. I just found out today that she has passed. We were good friends and worked together at BCC. My late husband Jerry and I used to go on vacations with Glenda and Mike. I just found out about him as well. Im am so very sorry for you loss. We had lost touch as so many friends do which is sad. I had been thinking of her so much lately and that is why i Googled her name and found this information, i had planned to reconnect our friendship. I pray God will hold them in the sweetest part of his heart forever and ever. Sadly miss.
