MITCHELL – James Joseph Green, 78, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2015, at his residence.

Born December 16, 1936, in Lawrenceport, he was the son of Leon and Rubie (Ray) Green. He married Shirley Jane Mattox July 24, 1959.

He had been employed at Indiana University Health Bedford and was the former owner of Green’s Drive-In.  He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1955 and was a member of the Bride of Christ Fellowship and Mitchell Masonic Lodge No. 228 F&AM.

James was a beloved husband and father.

His parents; son, James Anthony “Tony” Green; and brother, Tom Green, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, at the Bride of Christ Fellowship with Brother Jerry Allen officiating.  Burial will be in Lawrenceport Cemetery.  

Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center and from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the church.
