MITCHELL – Jerald Vance Carter, 66, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.

Born February 25, 1949, in Mitchell, he was the son of Robert and Rose Marie (Jones) Carter.

He had been employed at Ford-Visteon, and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1967.

Jerald was a U. S. Army veteran stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post No. 250.

                                    Melissa Dawn Hays, Bedford
                                    Jo Carter Scott, Heltonville
 mother and stepfather, Rose and Jim Gentry, Mitchell
                         father, Robert Carter, Paoli
                                    5 grandchildren

                                    Steven Carter, Orleans
                                    Diana Bollhorst, Bedford 
                                    several nieces and nephews                 

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Haverly Funeral Chapel with Brother Don Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
