MITCHELL – JoAnn Erwin, 90, passed away Tuesday morning, April 12, 2016, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.

Born September 27, 1925, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of John and Opal (Huber) Vest.  She married Ralph E. Erwin August 3, 1947, and he preceded her in death December 18, 2010.

JoAnn was a member of the First Baptist Church.   She had been a teacher aide at Burris School and previously was employed at Reliance Manufacturing.  JoAnn graduated from Orleans High School in 1943 and was a member of the Spring Mill Stitchers.

Her parents and husband preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Reggie Clark officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Friday at the church.

    Jeanie, Eric & families, you are in my thoughts. I loved JoAnn. She was a wonderful lady and a good friend to my mom. She and Ralph were such good role models at First Baptist.

    I am sorry to hear of JoAnn's passing. She and Ralph were a big part of the First Baptist Church. I have a lot of memories of them. Great people. She will be missed.
