My condolences to the family, JohnTom will be missed. I worked with JohnTom for about 14 years with SWBT, SBC, and AT&T. We worked in some of the same crews as techs and worked for some of the same Bosses as managers. He was one of the reasons I switched to the evening crew where we played many games of chess. Lot's of fun was had when we traveled to Bellcore in Illinois for training. This might not be the place for some of those stories but never a dull moment with JohnTom. God Bless you JohnTom, you will be missed.

I hadn't seen John since High School and starting talking with him every time I would shop at the Jay C store in Bedford. He was just as kind as he was in High School. Rest in Peace John.

To say “I’m going to miss you, John” is an understatement. He and I go back nearly 40 years together through broken marriages, lots of action on a pool table, chess, darts and much, much more. Since his moving back home to Mitchell a few years ago, we still kept in very close contact with each other. I will tell you that John was my closet friend in this world, other than my current wife. Hearing of his departure was a very shocking and unexpected blow. John was always a good friend and shoulder when I needed it. We had loads of fun traveling our annual visits to San Antonio and more in years past. The stories we shared together will always remain very fond memories today. And, there are so very many! As I continue to hurt from his leaving us, I can feel great comfort in knowing where he is today, up there, . . . with our wonderful Lord and Savior. John had professed his faith to my wife and me. That is a comfort in his untimely departure. As we go on with our lives, that puzzle piece of a friend may be gone, but will live on forever within me. God bless you John and may God be with you Melissa and Brenda through this very difficult time of loss. My heart hurts for and with you.

I met John just a few months ago at work at the Jay-C store. He was one of the sweetest, kindest, big hearted men I have ever met. He went out of his was to help his co-workers and had the BEST sense of humor. He will be missed by all of us. Have to say I'm a little upset with him...he promised to take me fishing next week...RIP dear friend. I'll keep "catchin 'em" for ya. Thank you for being a friend and checking on me when I had my surgery, you were a jewel.
