Fernandina Beach, Florida – Joseph Angelo Cosentino, 94, passed away at 12:35 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Bedford.
Born November 11, 1918, in Pittston, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Vincenzo “James” and Carolina (Cassaro) Cosentino. He married Florence Gloria Mecadon August 30, 1947, and she preceded him in death April 8, 1993. The loving father of Angela Cosentino of Mitchell.
Joseph served in World War II as a Petty Officer 2nd Class Electrician’s Mate in the Pacific Theater, and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He retired from the Department of the Navy after 35 years of federal service.
He was a graduate of Pittston High School in Pennsylvania, attended Manhattan College (NYC), and graduated from Drexel Institute of Technology (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) with a B. S. degree in Civil Engineering. He held a professional engineering (P.E.) license, and was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Florida.

His parents; wife, Florence, of 46 years; and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 25 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Pittston, Pennsylvania. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation at Adonizio Funeral Home in Pittston, Pennsylvania, will be Sunday evening, March 24.
