BEDFORD – Lavada Vera Ann Whitehead, 63, passed away at 12:02 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.

Born March 15, 1952, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of David Alonzo Malone and Frances Louise (Connerley) Scott.

Lavada was a certified nursing assistant and had been employed at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and StoneBridge Health Campus.

Surviving:       daughters, Kelly Good, Bedford
                                      Victoria (Tre) Gilbert, Bloomington
                                      Jonetta Fulford, Bloomington
                                      9 grandchildren
                                      6 great grandchildrren
                            sister, Tesa Payton, Paoli

Her parents and great granddaughter, Gracie Ann Louise Herod, preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, at Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday at Haverly Funeral Chapel.

    I worked with Vera at Westview many years ago. Vera also took care of my mother when she worked for Home Health. Vera was always good for a laugh or two and so much fun to be around. I know she loved her kids and grandkids very much. I always enjoyed bumping into her at different times through the years. I will miss that. My thougths and prayers are with her family. Rest in peace old friend.
