MITCHELL – Margaret Dunbar Wilfong, 87, passed away Thursday morning, January 28, 2016, at the home of her daughter.

Born November 9, 1928, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Dennis and Ruby (Toliver) Pruett.  She married James “Ty” Dunbar with whom she had five children. She later married Hugh F. Wilfong in 1977 and he preceded her in death May 20, 1978.

Margaret retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane in 1995 as an EEOC Specialist.  She was a graduate of Huron High School and attended Indiana University.  She was a lifelong member of Bonds Chapel United Methodist Church, and longtime member of the Huron WTK Club.

Her parents and daughter, Diana Dunbar Briscoe, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, January 31, at Bonds Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Rob Martindale and Reverend Dwight Dunbar officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center and from 12:30 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the church.

    Our deepest sympathy in your loss of a mother and grandmother. Jim and Wanda Williams, neighbors of Diana, enjoyed watching Brack and Brett take the school bus daily at the end of the lane. Of course, they welcomed Diana to their breakfast table of biscuits and gravey anytime she would walk thru the field of a morning to join them. Diana's mother visited often her family up the lane and always a joyful lady. I always felt Diana had her mother's delightful spirit. In those days, she seemed to be always laughing, and that personality continued all her life. She enjoyed coming to Huron for WTK Club, even after Ruby passed away. She was always a joy to be around.
