MITCHELL – Marie L. Hardman, 91, Mitchell, passed away at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2005, at White River Lodge, Bedford.

Born November 11, 1914, in Orange County, she was the daughter of Oscar and Ethel (Pruett) Johnson. She married Fred L. Hardman July 6, 1933, and he preceded her in death July 24, 1972.

She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1933, enjoyed oil painting, and had been employed more than 50 years at Mendenhall’s Jewelry.

She was a member of the Jacob Finger United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Gamma Epsilon chapter of Tri Kappa, Lawrence County Art Guild, Dixie Club, and a former member of Fleur de Lis.

Her parents; husband; twin sister, Mary Johnson White, and Martha Elizabeth Coleman, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 18, in the Jacob Finger United Methodist Church with Pastor Margaret Pruden and John Hardman officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at Chastain Funeral Home and from 1:00 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the church.
