DENTON, TEXAS   – Martha Elizabeth “Liz” Bever, 80, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015, in Denton, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.

 

Born October 11, 1934, in Shoals, she was the daughter of Kern and Anna (Grabner) Ellis.  She married her husband of 54 years and four months, Essell Lloyd Bever January 13, 1961, in Mitchell where she was also raised.

 

Liz enjoyed reading, quilting, flower gardening, bowling, traveling across the country and the world, and watching her favorite sports teams.  She was an avid Notre Dame fan.  Liz also enjoyed Western movies, especially John Wayne films.  She was a valued volunteer at the Denton Friends of the Family Thrift Shop for many years.

She is also survived by many dear friends in Colorado.

 

Her parents; brothers, Richard and James Ellis; brothers-in-law, Jack Hert and Gordon Wright; sister-in-law, Jan Ellis; nephew, William Wright, and grandchild Kelly Bonds preceded her in death.

 

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 22, at Haverly Funeral Chapel with Father Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating.  Graveside service will be at 12:00 p.m. at Ames Chapel in Paoli. 

 

Friends and family visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00pm Thursday at the funeral home.

 

In honor of her love for animals, memorial contributions can be made to the Denton Animal Support Foundation (DASF, P.O. Box 486, Denton, TX 76202).

    For John, Joan and Marilyn sorry to hear of Martha's passing. She was a great classmate and three days older than me. Also sorry to learn about Jan and Gordon. I did not know of their passing. If you don't remember me I am Bill Lynchs brother. He and Mary Helen are not doing well.
