I just learned of Maxine's death. Maxine's father and my grandmother were siblings. I was seeking more knowledge about my Johnson family. I spoke with Maxine on the phone. She had such a sweetness and kindness about her. She reminded me soo much of my grandmother and my Aunt Betty whom she played with as a child. She even remembered my great grandmother Mary Johnson born in 1860 singing in church! The memories she shared are absolutely priceless. Rest in peace sweet lady.

Growing up our family would go to Patoka Lake on Chet and Maxine's pontoon boat. They always enjoyed having all of us down there and throwing us off the boat into the water! Going to miss this lovely lady but so glad she can be reunited with Chet. Prayers for the family- especially my grandma, Ruth Mullis, during this tough time.

We have many good memories of Maxine's kindness including working with her my first year as a member at Tulip Street in Vacation Bible School with her granddaughter, Heather, working with her for years at the Times-Mail newspaper and good memories of attending a Bible study in her home numerous times with my new husband, Jim. She was always so hospitable and kind and will be greatly missed. With love, Jim & Laura Smith
