BROWNSTOWN – Maynard Bowling, 73, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Garden Villa in Bedford.

Born March 26, 1940, in Clay County, Kentucky, he was the son of Delbert and Susan Alice (Ledford) Bowling.  He married Doris Jean Bishop August 28, 1967.

He had been employed at Buck Lemon Furniture Store and was a member of Hilltop Pentecostal Church in Brownstown.

His parents; daughter, Norma Bowling; brother, Darrell Bowling; two grandsons and a great granddaughter, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center  Rev. Steve Muster officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

    Maynard was such a good friend to my dad, John Rainey. I always remember them working together at Buck Lemon or putting up hay. Maynard could out work a whole crew of younger guys. May they enjoy their reunion in Heaven.
