MITCHELL – Michael Dee McHargue, 75, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at his residence, with his family by his side, after five months of battling cancer.

Born July 11, 1941, in Muncie, he was the son of Jesse and Marie (Colglazier) McHargue.  He married Sharon Kay Sheeks September 4, 1964.

Mike retired from General Motors with 40 years of service and was a 1959 graduate of Mitchell High School.  He was an avid bowler and had seven 300 games.  Mike loved all sports.

He was a radio operator in the U. S. Marine Corps and recipient of the Good Conduct Medal.

His parents and brother, Larry McHargue, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 25, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with William Mathews officiating.  Burial will be in Sheeks Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from noon until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
