MITCHELL — Randy Lee Godsey, 49, Mitchell, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011, at his residence.

Born June 12, 1961, in Bedford, he is the son of Earl Leroy and Mary (Baker) Godsey. He married Vickie (Blackwell) Workman April 13, 1990.

He was a military policeman in the U. S. Army and was attached to the 572nd Military Police Company based at Fort Ritchie, Maryland. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 250.

Randy graduated from Bedford-North Lawrence High School in 1979 and was a member of Spice Valley Baptist Church. He had been employed at Regal Beloit and Baxter Pharmaceuticals.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Pastor Erin Raper and Pastor Phil Thorne officiating. Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Kentucky Ridge Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
