MITCHELL – Richard VanMeter, 54, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born January 17, 1963, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Leroy Franklin and Mary Frances (Melton) VanMeter. He married Rebecca Ann Lacey August 16, 1985.
Richard was a farmer and enjoyed fishing.

Funeral service will be at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Jerry Allen officiating.
Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
