MITCHELL – Ricky W. Merry, 54, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013, at his residence.

Born November 19, 1958, in Bedford, he was the son of Frank and Mildred (Ball) Merry.

He had been employed at Architectural Stone Sales and was a 1977 graduate of Mitchell High School. Ricky had a big heart and loved his family. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, landscaping, Martial Arts, volleyball, and softball.

 mother, Mildred (Larry) Henderson, Mitchell

 Connie Wilson, Mitchell
 Carol (Gordon) Phillips, Mitchell
 11 grandchildren
 8 nieces and nephews

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Aaron Poole officiating. Burial will be in Huron Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

    I am so sorry to hear of your great loss! I considered Rick one of the finest true human beings I've had the luck of meeting. He always was there to help! He was a good karate student for me and reminded me often of the great Chuck Norris. His form was very pure and ascetic it must of come from his heart. He helped me when I was married and also after I divorced. He helped another friend of ours in his time of need, Robert Wilson. Thats when I first remember being impressed with him. One of the funnies was seeing him cut grass barefooted and his summer time green feet.Out of all the people I've met he was undoubtedly one of the strongest! for his size and weight!,tying up with him was like grabbing ahold of a solid brick wall. I would always want him on my side! We have lost a good one! here on this planet. I truly am so sad at his going but am truly blessed at getting to spend some time with Rick!!!

    Sorry to hear of Rick's passing, he was such a nice, easy going guy..I worked in the office at Architectural Stone so saw Rick alot while he was there. Praying for all of the family during this hard time.
