BLOOMINGTON – Robert Dale Basler, 44, loving father and best friend, passed away Friday morning, November 29, 2013, in Bloomington.

Born December 31, 1968, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Ed Myott and Nora (Smith) Basler. He was adopted by John Basler.

He loved fishing, camping, and hunting.

Surviving: daughter, Shayla Jo Basler, Mitchell
 former wife, Kathy (Moore) Basler, Mitchell
 father, Ed Myott, Largo, Florida
 sister, Michelle Grace, Williams
 brother, Eddie Basler, Chattanooga, Tennessee
 several adopted siblings
 several nieces and nephews

His parents preceded him in death.

“Forever, we will carry your heart in ours.”

Cremation was chosen; there will be no visitation or service at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

    Robert Dale has been gone for ovet 7 years and I still miss him. Although we were not married when he passed away, we remained good friends. He was a very unique person who lived life to the fullest. He always had a good attitude even though he had a rough life. I think he was happiest when he was fishing or hunting. Ill never stop missing him. God bless you my dear friend!

    Kathy, I am sorry to hear of the passing of Robert. He and I had many talks while I worked at OCJ. Great guy at heart and he and my ex had written a song together while at LCJ..prayers and thoughts to all of his family. The Cleek and Cazee families.
