MITCHELL – William Robert “Mike” Guthrie, 81, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born April 9, 1931, in Lawrence County, he was the son of William Raymond and Molly (Murphin) Guthrie. He married Mary Lorene Boyles February 21, 1952.
William retired from General Motors and was a 1949 graduate of Medora High School.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

His parents; daughter, Cathy Guthrie; and brother, Joe Guthrie, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Fred Barger officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9107.
Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday and from noon until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
