CAMPBELLSBURG Alvin Gilbert Walton, 82, passed away at 7:22 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2007, at Bloomington
Hospital.

Born September 27, 1924, in Sacramento, California, he was the son of Gilbert Gray and Pauline Olga (Freed) Walton. He married Marilyn Beaman April 3, 1954, and she preceded him in death May 26, 1979.

He was store manager of the JCPenney store in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and retired in 1982.

He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, served in the European Theater, and was a member of Salem American Legion Post No. 41.

He graduated from Campbellsburg High School in 1943 and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was a member of the Valley of Indianapolis Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, a 50-year member of the Murat Shriners of Indianapolis, and a 32nd degree member of Rob Morris Masonic Lodge No. 282 F&AM.

His parents; wife; and infant daughter, Mary Louise Walton, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Pastor Pat Sinnott officiating. Burial will be in Claysville Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

A memorial service conducted by Rob Morris Masonic Lodge No. 282 F&AM will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
