RLEANS – Avis Webb, 84, Orleans, passed away Thursday, April 19, at her residence.
Born July 18, 1922, in Orange County, she was the daughter of George and Maude (Burton) Pickens. She married Lee Webb April 17, 1948.
She had been employed at Reliance Manufacturing and Pillsbury. She was a 1940 graduate of Orleans High School and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. For many years, she and her husband were custodians at the Orleans Christian Church.

Her parents, and brother, Robert Pickens, preceded her in death.
Reverend Lewis Williams officiated at a private family service and burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
