BLOOMINGTON Barbara Ann Terrell, 77, Bloomington, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2009, at Bloomington Hospital.

Born August 25, 1931, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Paul and Dora Jewell (Jeffries) Houchin.

She had been employed at K-Mart, 3-D, and Cook, Inc.

Barbara was a member of the Southside Christian Church and resided in Bloomington most of her life. She was an animal rights activist and a long time supporter of animal rights organizations. She respected our earth and was a good steward of the earth. Barbara loved animals and had tamed several raccoons and deer that lived near her home. She was kind and loving toward everyone she met. A flower and plant expert, she had worked for local nurseries and enjoyed maintaining her own garden. She was a rock hound and made jewelry out of her finds. In the 1970’s she was a member of the Indiana University Geology Club.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Brother Craig Moore officiating.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
