MITCHELL – Benjamin Wayne Tirey, 20, 1298 Kings Ridge Road, Mitchell, passed away at 9:44 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Dunn Memorial Hospital.

Born March 20, 1987, in Bedford, he was the son of Monte C. and Teresa J. (Woodford) Tirey. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 2005 and was studying conservation law at Vincennes University. He was currently employed at Spice Valley Landscaping.

Benjamin was a fine young Christian man who believed in Jesus Christ as his savior. He was a member of Crossroads Community Church and loved to play his guitar in the Praise Band. He enjoyed life and demonstrated the motto, “Live, love, and laugh.” He was a hunter and belonged to Waterfowler.com Association, and was also a member of Vincennes University Campus Ministries. He loved to spend his time playing guitar, hunting, golfing, and most of all, spending time with the love of his life, Kerri.

His grandparents, Wayne and Nina Tirey preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Crossroads Community Church with Pastor Ken Ransom and Pastor Reno Bates officiating. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Spice Valley Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the church.
