GREENCASTLE – Brenda Kay Richason, 80, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Clinton House Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Frankfort.

Born September 14, 1942, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Harley and Georgia (Terrell) Kelley.  Brenda married Arthur David “Sonny” Richason in 1982 and he preceded her in death in 1983.

Brenda was a 1960 graduate of Mitchell High School.  She retired from International Automotive Components as quality control and she was a part time hair stylist for many years.  Brenda loved spending time with her granddaughter.

Surviving are her son, Troy Fields of Lafayette and granddaughter, Chandler Fields.

Her husband; father; mother, Georgia Taflinger; step-father, Charles “Bud” Taflinger; and sister, Judith Van Hoy, preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be at 1:15 p.m. Monday, March 6, at Mitchell Cemetery with Brother Greg Isom officiating.  Burial will follow.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

    I am so sorry to hear of Brenda's passing. I worked with her for several years at Shenandoah/Lear (before it became IAC) and she was also so sweet and helpful. My deepest condolences to her friends and family.
