MITCHELL — Camden Makayla Powell, 15, passed away September 22, 2021, at her residence.

Born September 11, 2006, in Clinton, she was the daughter of Justin Michael and Jennifer Marie (Bowling) Carpenter.

Camden was a freshman at Mitchell High School and a member of the basketball and track teams. She was independent from an early age and was adventurous and out-going. Camden was funny, very creative, had a beautiful smile, and was a beautiful soul.

Her brother, Justin Carpenter, and maternal grandfather, Todd Bowling, preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 30, at Mitchell Cemetery with Pastor Steve Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

To celebrate the life of Camden, the family requests that anyone who has a picture with her to print it off, write a memory on the back of it, and it will be collected during visitation.

    Me and camden was friends we got close in 2nd to 5th grade and i have wondeful memories with her.I love her withh all my heart and she will be loved by so many.     Mr and Camden weren't even friends. We talked back in thrid grade she helped me like everyone else in my class bc I had had a bad accident and was in a back brace. But she was also the only one that didn't make me feel like a complete idiot and failure when I was the only girl on the wrestling team last year. She would also make these little jokes that no one other than me got. And she was there when had my friat and only meet and she was the only one (other than the coach and my family) that said I did a good job and that a boy couldn't do any better.

    I didn't know Camden as well as many others that I know, but everytime I saw her or interacted with her, she would always make me smile by seeing her laugh or grin or enjoy life.     Yesterday & today was a very hard day for Cami's funeral. Such a beautiful service today. She was such a sweet Lil girl. I am so sorry Justin & Jennifer.     Jennifer, Justin and family, there is nothing I can write here to make anything better. There are just no words. Just know that you have been in the front of my mind daily since I heard the news and all I can do is pray for healing for your poor souls. I didn't believe that it was your Camden, it had to be someone else's Camden. She was a sweet girl and I always enjoyed talking with her.
