MITCHELL – Carole Ann Stinson, 63, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at home. Born April 4, 1960, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Norman E. “Lou” and Judith Frances (Kline) Darnell. Carole was a lifelong resident of Mitchell. She married Robert Alan Stinson on August 2, 1981, and he survives.

Carole was a registered nurse with Bedford Regional Medical Center and enjoyed being a nurse. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1978 and received her bachelor degree from Ivy Tech Community College. Carole loved her grandkids and was an avid reader.


Survivors include her husband, Bob Stinson of Mitchell; children, Shelly Jean (Bill) Cooper of Mitchell, Robin Marie (Forrest) Winters of Columbus, Jason Adam (Stephanie) Stinson of Orleans, and Katherine Bell (Josh) Melton of Mitchell; grandchildren, Nicolle, Christopher, Jordan, Elizabeth, Tristan, Isabella, Charlotte, and Callum; great grandchildren, Colton and Hadley; and brothers, David E. (Pamela) Darnell of Pekin and Brian S. (Julie) Darnell of Heltonville.


Her parents and son, Robert Alan Stinson, Jr., preceded her in death.


Funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain
Funeral Home & Cremation Center.


Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
