MITCHELL – Martha Carolyn Wilkins, 91, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020, at StoneBridge Health Campus in Bedford.
Born July 19, 1929, in Orange County, she was the daughter of Everett and Carrie (Wilfong) Johnson. She married Robert Collier Wilkins May 4, 1951, and he preceded her in death October 16, 2004.
Carolyn retired from the U. S. Postal Service in 1991 and then began another career at Ben Franklin. She was a member of the Mitchell Church of Christ, served on the Bread of Life board, and was a graduate of Orleans High School in 1947. Carolyn was a member of Mitchell on the Move, Dixie Club and Quarry Quilters. She was very crafty and enjoyed quilting and sewing.

Her parents; husband; daughters, Ruth Ann Wilkins and Mary Wilkins; son-in-law, Frank McClelland; sister, Margaret Wilkins; and brothers, Robert Huston Johnson and Stanley Johnson, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, in the Family Life Center at the Mitchell Church of Christ with Brother Allen Burris officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The 14 grandsons will be casketbearers.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the service on Wednesday at the church.
