MITCHELLDennis “Jack” Hollis, 72, Mitchell, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2009, at Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born February 7, 1937, in Crawford County, he was the son of Dennis Franklin and Halcy Ellen (Jenkins) Hollis. He married Volnetta Jean Irwin September 11, 2003.
He retired from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and was a member of the Huron Baptist Church.
Jack was a U. S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post No. 84 in Marengo.

His parents and brother, Robert “Bob” Hollis, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 13, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Allender officiating. Burial will be at noon on Saturday, August 22, in Huron Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
