Dwayne was a fun and funny uncle. Called my sisters and I, rat finks – lovingly, of course! He and I both attended the Herron School of Art. He was a talented illustrator. Once when I was very young, I asked him to draw me. He did, but drew me from the back as if he were looking through me! It was amazing, but I was not happy. He had a good laugh on me! He laughed with his eyes – they sparkled.

I’ve known Dwayne from our school days in the 1950’s. In recent years years, he was a regular attendee at our weekly Wednesday luncheons of like-minded individuals in the Indianapolis area. He made many good friends at these events and was probably best known for his t-shirts. He will be missed by all. Rest in peace old friend.

I had the pleasure of working with Dwayne, and having dinner with him and Nancy at your house a very long time ago. What a great man! I’m sorry for all your loss. I loved his nickname for me and won’t publish it here. He always found the bright spot in a situation. I will miss him!
