My fondest childhood memories in Bryantsville were in Dottie’s home and her care. She was a gentle kind soul. I’m thankful to have known her and the privilege to have attended her birthday celebration several years back.

So sad to hear of Dottie's passing. Will always cherish the times stopping in and chatting with her. It always amazed me how she could take something rusty and turn it into something beautiful. What a artist in her paintings, and a loving lady. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the Sherwood family.

I was so sad to hear of Dottie's passing. Dottie became my friend and cousin when her Uncle Carl Hawkins married my mother. Actually I adopted Ed and Helen also. We had some happy times. Thank you for welcoming me into your family..

Dottie was a dear Christian friend, a devoted wife and mother, and a respected artist. She enriched the organizations and fellowships fortunate enough to have her presence, We loved her and Ed dearly and do send our condolences and love to her family. We wish we were able to be present Sunday. May the God of Hope bless you all as we wait for the Great Reunion with Jesus.

Dottie was always a wonderful lady. She always had kind words and a genuine interest in family. I usually only made contact with her during the Festival when I would take my son's paintings to enter them for him.She and Eddie were always good friends to my dad, Jake. She will be missed. Prayers for the family; she was one of a kind.

From our hearts at the Lawrence County Art Association, we send our condolences. We all loved Dottie so much and will miss her. She inspired us through her personality and her artwork. She was kind, thoughtful, smart, talented, and always a lady--but never afraid to stand up for her beliefs. We will be sending a donation in her name to Bryantsville Hunger Relief. I picture Dottie in Heaven, painting the clouds!

Dottie was remarkable, we were in awe of her artwork. Very sweet lady, we will miss her very much. She gave us a tour of her artwork throughout her home on our last visit, needless to say that is something we will never forget. Can’t imagine visiting Bryantsville without her being there. I have very fond memories of her from my earliest childhood to date. Condolences to the family on her passing.
