MITCHELL Elva Mae McFarland, 75, Mitchell, passed away at 1:36 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Born August 28, 1935, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Ray H. and Blanche (Jeffers) Conner. She married Samuel D. McFarland February 16, 1950, and he preceded her in death December 15, 1989.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

Her parents; husband; sister, Jean Womack; and two grandsons preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, at Williams Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday at Chastain Funeral Home.

    Shawn and family, So sorry to hear about your mother. I never had the honor of meeting her though. Dont know if you remember me or not...I was Mike Fleenor's wife. We used to have the church bus at Woodville Baptist Church and I remember when we used to pick you up for Sunday School and church. I have a drawing you made when you were little as you sat in church. You had given it to Mike. He kept it in his Bible for years. He passed away in 2000.
