Maxine enjoyed tending to her flowers, camping, canning fresh vegetables, and quilting.  For her 90th birthday, she made each of her daughters a quilt.

Maxine stayed home caring for her daughters until the last one started school, at which time she started working at RCA in Bloomington where she worked until her retirement in 1979.

Maxine was a devoted mother who never missed a cheerleading event, baton twirling event and all things her girls participated in.  Maxine was a loving mother and wonderful grandmother to all of her grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to extend special thank you to Gina Barisano, Beth Collins, Heart to Heart Hospice, and special Hospice Nurse, Korina Dusard, as well as life-long friend Danny Blevins, who kept her supplied with all the fresh green beans she canned.

In honor of our mother, you will be seeing lots of the color red at her celebration of life, as red was her favorite color.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Dear Debbie. Sending you sympathy on the death of your mother. I'm glad she lived a good, long life. I remember our days at Crane when we were good friends. I'm in Deerfield Beach FL now. I see you are in Jacksonville. Maybe we could get together some day at Disney or somewhere 1/2 way in-between. I'd love to catch up with you on our lives in the past 40 years or so. Thinking of you with fond memories, Joann Phipps Teresi

I will always cherish the "stories" Elmer, Maxine, Dad, & Mom would tell when visiting and reminiscing of the 'old days'. Very few people made Mom & Dad laugh as much as Elmer and Maxine. Rest in peace Maxine, you will always be remembered.

I worked many years ago with Maxine at RCA. She was a delight to work with, always with a smile on her face and she was a hard worker but willing to help any newbies that help. So sorry for your loss, but definitely heaven's gain.
