MITCHELL Floyd “Peck” Terrell, Jr., 82, Mitchell, passed away at 3:18 a.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Medco Health and Rehabilitation Center in French Lick.

Born September 4, 1925, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Floyd and Gussie (Davis) Terrell, Sr. He married Rosemary Kemple January 15, 1944, and she preceded him in death May 30, 2003.

He was formerly employed at General Motors, Donaldson Bakery, and owned and operated the Mitchell Bowling Lanes for several years. He enjoyed his family and fishing.

He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, served in the First Marine Division and fought in battles for Pslau Island and Okinawa Island. He was a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and attended the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene.

His parents; wife; sisters: Evelyn Rush, Gladys Owen, Imogene Terrell and Ardith Mink; brothers: James Shelton and Fredrick Fultz; four grandsons: Trent, Andrew, Klay and Krey Edwards, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Bechtel officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
