MITCHELL — Frieda Maxine Stroud, 89, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Mitchell Manor Nursing Facility.

Born May 10, 1929, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Andrew and Pluma (Chasteen) Enochs. She married David G. Stroud on March 19, 1949, and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2008.

Maxine was a very loving mother and housewife and a kind hearted friend to everyone she knew.  She also was an employee of Mitchell Community Schools for 29 years as the head baker at the high school cafeteria.  She dedicated her whole life to her family and friends.  She was a member of Cornerstone Worship Center in Judah.

Surviving are four sons; Paul D. (Kathy) Stroud of Mitchell, Glen (Patty) Stroud of Bogart, Georgia, Steven (Mickey) Stroud of Williams, Tim  Stroud of Mitchell; five grandchildren; Lindsay (Jason) Kidwell, Lance Stroud, Ashlee (Barry) Duncan, Wesley (Sarah) Stroud and Shane Stroud; eight great-grandchildren, Korbin Kidwell, Kora Kidwell, Arionna Duncan, Ethan Duncan, Ali Duncan, Taylor Duncan, Izzy Duncan, Mia Duncan; and one great-great grandchild, Raylin Wright; two sisters,  Estelle Fisher of Norman and Mary  Flinn of Mitchell; one brother, Frank (Shirley) Enochs of Bloomington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years David Stroud; sisters, Bonnie Marie Enochs and  Brenda (Marvin) Patton;  brothers, Andrew (Phyllis) Enochs, Jr. and Paul Enochs;  daughter-in–law, Carrol Stroud; brothers-in-law, Dean Fisher and Paul Flinn; and great granddaughter, Marti Rose Stroud.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, March 22, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Rodney Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM  until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
