MITCHELL – Gerald Dean Williams, 93, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Ascension St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.

Born January 10, 1928, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Doan and Agnes (Barlow) Williams.  He was married to W. Charlene Tincher and she preceded him in death August 26, 2008.

Gerald retired from Trav-Ler Radio Corporation and General Motors.  He was a member of the Mitchell First Church of God, and a 1945 graduate of Huron High School.

Eric Garceau, Amy Manghelli, Nick Williams, Gabe Williams, and Shane Williams
10 great-grandchildren

His parents; wife; great-granddaughter, Page Williams; and siblings, Velma Thompson, Loeda Mundy, and Bill Williams, preceded him in death.

Private family graveside service will be Sunday, July 27, at Mitchell Cemetery with Pastor Roland Holtsclaw officiating.

    Danny,Vicki,Lanny I met your father at st Vincent he brought me a picture of my father I’d never seen .He thought of me and that touched me .Your dad was a great man always pleasant ,even though he wasn’t feeling his best.had me squeeze his hand then he squeeze mine incredibly strong to my surprise .     I've known Gerald almost all of my life. Vicki and I were classmates for 12 years of school, and his brother Bill was my best man in my wedding. I always felt a special connection to Gerald (we shared the same name) and I remember his ever so respectful presence at each of my family member's passing. He would pay his respects and remain for hours quietly sitting in back. I tried calling and chatting with him later, but always seem to miss him. He had a quiet and dignified demeanor that I admired. He will be missed.
