MITCHELL — Harrison E. Conley, 83, Mitchell, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2010, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born April 5, 1926, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Orlando and Eva (Tolbert) Conley. He married Bonnie M. Edwards May 11, 1947.
He retired in 1989 as purchasing supervisor at Lehigh Portland Cement Company, where he had 42 years of service beginning January 27, 1948. He was a life-long member of the Mitchell Church of Christ and a 1946 graduate of Mitchell High School.
Harrison was a U. S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.

His parents; brother, Descoe Conley; and sister, Frances Conley, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 25, at the Mitchell Church of Christ with Bro. Allen Burris officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call 3:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home, and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the church.
