Mike, Larry and MaryJo (I know there are other siblings), I was surprised and sad to learn of Harry Wayne's passing. Working and visiting with him and you was always the bright spot in my day. I enjoyed his sense of humor, even when he was challenging. You were so fortunate to have him as your father. After he went home, I thought I'd come by and visit, but I am still out on short term disability. He returned to MM and I never knew it! MaryJo, I miss you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Barbara

Lots of love and condolences to everyone in the Smith family. My memories of trips to the farm are linked with Harry Wayne & Eleanor. Seeing their farm meant we were just minutes from "home" and if they were outside they would be the first to greet us! Harry Wayne had the best smile, especially that twinkle he had in his eyes. You all have meant so much to our family, and we will forever celebrate the joy & comfort brought to our lives!

Our hearts go out to your family at the passing of a truly sweet man. May God's love surround you as you celebrate a life well lived. I have known Harry Wayne since I was a little girl and loved the times we would visit him and Eleanor in Lawrenceport. He was so proud of his family and a true farmer. Paul was so glad to share stories of all the chores that come with farming. Rivervale and Lawrenceport were much brighter because of the Smiths. We will miss another from the Great Generation!!

Mary Jo & Priscilla, I am so sorry we didn't make it to the funeral home. I had my days confused. Phil & I were just getting ready to come to the funeral visitation when I checked the times and found out that the funeral is NOT tomorrow but was this morning. We are so very, VERY sorry for your loss.

Always at our family reunions, he and Eleanor were always supportive of our gatherings, very kind and sweet. I ran into him at Arby's and he was so nice to share some memories of his father. Cousin, you will be missed. Love, Mabel Ann

In the forest of life Harry Wayne would certainly be called an oak, bending perhaps but eternally strong. Though he will be missed his memory will serve each of us as a life-sharing example to follow.
