BEDFORD – Hubert R. “Chappie” Chapman, 82, Bedford, formerly of Mitchell, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at Bloomington Hospital.

Born April 11, 1925, in Dry Ridge, Kentucky, he was the son of Noel and Lucy (Rymer) Chapman. He was first married to Virginia Lawrence and then married Emily C. (Hicks) Miller and she preceded him in death December 23, 1994.

He was a farmer and retired as a security guard.

He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

His parents and wife preceded him in death.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, at Schultz Cemetery in Martinsville with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
