MITCHELL – Hugh Rockford Jean, 97, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.
Born November 3, 1923, at Spring Mill, he was the son of Charles and Carrie (Goldsmith) Jean. He married Lillian L. Ray June 4, 1949, and she preceded him in death January 5, 1990.
He retired from General Motors and attended Dive Christian Church. Hugh was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.

His parents; wife, and siblings, Mary Pauline Saylor, Thelma M. Reynolds, Grace Lorena Stephens, Harold Charles Jean, Edgar Edmund Jean, William Harry Jean, and Roscoe Leland Jean, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
