MITCHELL – James O. Ethridge, 87, Mitchell, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at StoneBridge Health Campus, Bedford.
Born July 28, 1917 in Fayetteville, he was the son of Ofel “Shorty” and Beatrice (Dunkin) Ethridge. He married Marie (Smedler) Byrley October 25, 2000, and she survives.
He owned a construction company, was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

His parents; daughter, Sandy Ethridge; and sisters, Helen Kimball, Dorothy Johnson, and Juanita Wheeler preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute with Robert Edinger officiating.
Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home.
