MITCHELL – Jesse Robert “Red” Aynes, 82, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Indiana University Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born October 9, 1935, in Mitchell, he was the son of Jesse and Ova Mae (Pemberton) Aynes.  He married Janet Sue Andrews July 21, 1956.

Jesse retired from Carpenter Body Works with 42 years of service.  He enjoyed scuba diving, spelunking, fishing, and building things.  He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1954.  Jesse was a great story teller.

His parents preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
