MITCHELL – John Andrew Burbrink, 55, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Indiana University Health Paoli Hospital.

Born June 8, 1960, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of Robert “Bubbs” and Joan (Fath) Burbrink.  He married Kathy Lynn Tolbert October 6, 2001.

John had been employed at General Electric in Bloomington and was currently employed at Airgas.  He was a member of Mitchell Masonic Lodge No. 228 F&AM and was treasurer of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

His parents preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.  Cremation will follow with burial at a later date in St. Mary Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.

    Kathy, Our hearts are broken over the loss of "Uncle Jed," aka "Barbie stealer-man," "King Richard," "Johnny Yoder." So very many memories of his unique kind of fun and sense of humor, but also of the deep love he gave us in his lifetime. John was as sentimental as he was anything else and we will cherish that, his kindness, and his impish grin, until the end of time. Though circumstance has kept us apart these past few years, I love you both dearly and am holding you both in my heart and never letting go.     Kathy,We are very sad to hear about John passing.He was always asking if there was anything he could as a neighbor or friend. We still remember the Sunday morning you and him came over early and shoveled the snow off the drive way, it sure did surprise us.He loved being a small farmer. we will always remember him and miss him. We know he is looking over all of us now like he did when he was here. We love you!! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.
