Jim and I enjoyed many years of friendship with John and Janet while they were in Greenville and are deeply saddened by the news of his passing. John had the greatest chuckle. Our thoughts are with Janet and the children.

Uncle John, Just like our boys before us, you will surely be missed. In memory of you, I would like the recall the last time we got to visit you. My dad John had just passes away, Jason was still with us at the time. You and Janet moved out to be around your boys. So Karen, Jason and I all came out for a visit. I was skeptical at first. It had been years since we last seen you all in NM, I didn't think any one but you and Janet would know us. You instantly made me feel at ease when we got there. Almost felt like you both were like Theron and Iona, loving, caring, the best grandparents around. A couple days in and we all went to some kind of an outside shindig to have fun. I sat next to you and Janet most of the time. I remember you telling me "You don't need to hang around us oldsters. Get up and go hang out with the others." Which I eventually did. You got me to get up out of my funk from losing my dad and go be a kid for a bit. When I came back you chuckled at me and told me I wasn't gone long, paused for a moment and told me "Well, you always have a place right here." And sat quietly watching fireworks going off. It was a really hard time for us, but you knew, and didn't have to say much about it. You gave me the support I needed without realizing I needed it. Thank you, Uncle John. Bless you, Aunt Janet. Your so very much loved. Please tell my dad and Jason were good. I'm glad your with them, no better place to be then with family. Much love sent to the Fahl's, Dougherty's and Brem's during this time.

My favorite thing with my Dad was watching him teach the new little ones coming up into the fold, how to do "The Handshake". Most of them know how to do it too!! My Dad was the kindest, gentleman. I will miss his roar!!! Love you Dad

My condolences for Johns wife Janet and children. My fond memories of John were summertime with Kim at the house in Slippery Rock. He was a great guy. Did he realize how many times I fell on those rocks? I lived up to my last name.
